This coffee scrub packs a punch, though don't try eating it (I did) and it doesn't taste as good as the delicious ingredients it contains. Tell us how you started your business and why?

SummerLoveScrub started from our love of coffee, nature and great skin. We are proud that this product is vegan, all natural and cruelty free. Sadly too many products are tested on animals and we wanted to offer an alternative. Our product consists of 6 transparent ingredients so everyone can understand exactly what is in our scrub.

How did you come up with your packaging, design and/or ingredients?

Well, our favourite colour is pink, so that was a must. We wanted our packaging to look beautiful as that is how our scrub makes your skin feel. We get a lot of comments on how beautiful the packaging is, so I think we have achieved that. As for ingredients, a lot of time (months) went into working out the perfect formula, so basically it was trial and error. Also, it was important to use ingredients that actually help with issues such as blemishes, dry skin and cellulite just to name a few.

What have you learnt about your business along the way?

To never give up! There are highs and lows (fortunately, not too many lows), but we love what we do. We try out best for ultimate customer service and feel we have achieved that from the feedback we get. There is a lot of competition out there, but we believe in our product and as a result of hard work, great customer service – we have happy customers that continue to support us.

What’s special/unique about your product?

It is handmade in Byron Bay and ingredients are sourced locally. This is important to us to support local businesses.

What’s new for your business over the next 12 months?

We have been working very hard at developing a facial scrub, something that is a little finer. We've had some setbacks, as we are determine to keep our products 100% natural, so more work is required.

Where’s your favourite place in Byron Bay?

Main Beach – in fact we were only there yesterday (Sunday) for a family picnic – it was beautiful J
