Byron Bay Bliss Balls began their journey in our beloved hometown in 2009. Here, founder Aurelien, widely known as Leo, wanted to create something that would fix any sweet tooth cravings without excess sugar. Something that can be eaten any time of day, accompanying a morning coffee, to cure an afternoon slump or for a post-surf snack. Leo wished to produce something nutritious that is also a natural energy source. By spending a lot of time and effort researching local growers and suppliers, he was able to find organic ingredients from within the Northern Rivers region, like their sweet, soft honey that is sourced from a nearby apiary. Supporting the community is a big part of the business; alongside this, Leo was adamant about establishing a handcrafted and healthy snack that is both allergy and guilt-gree. Through cleverly combining an original recipe of his own, Leo and his small, dedicated team are able to make sure every bliss ball is also gluten, nut, preservative and additive free! Starting with the two original flavours, vanilla and chocolate, which are now joined by the ever so flavoursome, salted caramel bliss ball. Each ball is coated in delicate flakes of tropical-tasting coconut (a fruit, not a nut) and made with scrumptious cacao and vanilla, which are also excellent sources of protein. 

Once the delicious formula was perfected, they commenced selling through local health food stores and cafes that simply couldn’t get enough! As the demand was high, the production levels grew to match, and they soon found themselves distributing across Australia to many very satisfied customers. Today, Leo still loves the intimate nature of his business, how his best ambassadors are the ones who simply tell their family and friends to try the bliss balls, knowing they will never look back! These are healthy snacks that swiftly become an everyday essential in your pantry, beach bag or lunchbox.
