About Brookfarm

Brookfarm has a rich history, it all originated from the desire to settle down in the country and live simply off the land. The Brook family had this rural dream which inspired them to locate as a whole to a run-down dairy farm located in the Byron Bay hinterland. Here, through a lot of hard work and passion, they transformed the land into a full-functioning macadamia farm on a section of regenerated ancient sub-tropical rainforest as well as a place to call home.

Since their move in 1989, their family and business have grown a lot! During this time, they have discovered so much about Australia’s native nut, the magical macadamia. Through this journey was a ton of product development, working and testing the diversity of flavours that shine through from the nutty goodness. The kitchen was the hub of the home and the start of the Brookfarm adventure. After many trials and tastings, Pam and Martin bundled up their final version of delicious toasted muesli with the family in tow and began selling them at the local markets. They swiftly sold out here, and the popularity of their healthy snacks started. Jump to today, twenty years later, and they are stocked worldwide with a range that has expanded significantly, including whole food bars, granolas, trail mix and premium macadamia oil. There is something for everyone, from keto, paleo, gluten-free or vegan, and everything is jam-packed with nutritious ingredients, full of fruit, seeds, grains and, of course, nuts.

Brookfarm is also wholly dedicated to practising regenerative farming and delivering a high-quality product. Their team has gone full circle and is led now by their eldest son. They work tirelessly to keep restoring the local environment that they reside in; it has certainly come a long way from the barren land that they first moved to. The Brookfarm location is now a luscious terrain full of indigenous trees they have planted, creating a natural habitat for other plants and animals to enjoy and thrive in. Solar panels power the bakehouse to help lower its carbon footprint and keep waste and resources to a minimum. Protecting the planet is a priority for Brookfarm, and it shows in every part of the process down to the recyclable packaging. Their business provides regional jobs and support for the community, getting involved in initiatives, volunteering time and donating produce to those in need.

We love everything Brookfarm do, and we know you will too, check out their website here or our range of Byron Bay Gift Hampers that carry products from their fantastic range.
